The tourist hub has emerged around the Bedouin village of Assalah, situated to the north of the city. This area features more affordable accommodations, campsites, dining establishments, and seaside banquets, catering primarily to young and independent travelers with modest budgets.

In contrast, the more upscale section lies to the south of the city, boasting luxury hotels, resort villages, and dive centers that appeal to a diverse clientele. Nevertheless, the primary allure for all visitors continues to be the sea and the coral reef, which is teeming with vibrant marine life, easily observable even during shallow dives near the shoreline.

Dahab Sinai is comprised of three primary sections. To the north lies the estuaries, which encompass the Bedouin village of Asala. Situated south of the estuary is the more tourist-oriented area, characterized by a greater number of hotels. In the southwest, one can find the city that features the Laguna region, renowned for its shallow surfing opportunities. Many individuals who have previously visited Dahab are returning travelers, drawn by their interest in diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea.

Dahab attracts a significant influx of tourists from around the globe, renowned for its exceptional surfing opportunities. The consistent winds create ideal conditions, complemented by the flat waters of the Dahab Strait. Beyond the shoreline, the combination of strong winds and small waves offers remarkable surfing experiences. Entry-level Open Water courses typically span three to four days, after which participants may enroll in enjoyable dives to explore the best of Dahab. Numerous diving centers in Dahab provide daily excursions to the SS Thistlegorm, one of the most renowned shipwrecks worldwide. This British cargo vessel sank during World War II in 1941 after being struck by two German bombs while carrying allied supplies. Discovered by Jacques Cousteau in 1955, the SS Thistlegorm has since become a highlight of the Red Sea diving experience, measuring over 400 feet (approximately 120 meters) in length. In addition to water sports, Dahab offers a variety of adventurous activities, including rock climbing, camel rides, and the chance to experience the charm of Arabian horses. Visitors can also engage in mountain biking, jeep excursions, quad biking, and take a trip to Ras Abu Gallum.

Abu Gallum Nature Reserve serves multiple purposes and is situated in South Sinai, Egypt, overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba along the route connecting Sharm El-Sheikh and Taba, specifically in the Wadi Al-Kasasa area. It was designated as a protected area by Prime Minister Decision No. 1511 in 1992, with subsequent amendments made by Resolution No. 33 in 1996. Renowned as one of the premier diving destinations globally, the Kanoun region is particularly noted for its exceptional diving opportunities in Al-Asala, where approximately 75% of the local population resides across three districts: Mubarak City, Zarnouk, and Al-Asala. The principal thoroughfare of the city begins at Al Fanar Street and extends to Aqaba Bay. Additionally, a notable landmark is Jabal Musa, also known as Mount Sinai, which rises to 2,385 meters above sea level in the South Sinai Governorate. The mountain is named after the Prophet Musa, who, according to the traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, received the Ten Commandments from God on this site.
