The establishment of Borg El Arab Airport dates back to 1990 AD, and this ancient Egyptian airport underwent comprehensive expansion operations in 2010 AD, and the expansion operations included increasing the areas allocated for cargo and baggage, in addition to increasing the capacity of the airport, so that its new form is more capable of absorbing the huge population increase witnessed by the Egyptian cities, and after modernization, it became able to accommodate about 1.2 million passengers annually.
