Start with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, where you’ll explore Egypt’s most iconic pyramids. The Great Pyramid of King Cheops, located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, is a lasting symbol of Egypt and the only surviving ancient Wonder of the World. Built during the reign of the Fourth Dynasty King Khufu, this monumental structure took twenty years to complete. You also have the option to enjoy a camel ride around the pyramids for an hour.
Next, visit the Valley Temple of King Chephren and the Great Sphinx, a monumental statue with the body of a lion and the head of a man, representing strength and wisdom.
Continue to the necropolis of Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, constructed under the guidance of the renowned architect Imhotep. This six-tiered, four-sided pyramid is considered the first major stone building in Egypt. You’ll also have the chance to enter one of the pyramids in Saqqara, such as the Pyramid of Teti, and explore the tomb of Kagemni, a noble from the 6th Dynasty. The tomb features exquisite wall inscriptions depicting scenes of animals, fish, and birds in offering and hunting scenarios, showcasing some of the finest ancient Egyptian art.
After a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, you will return to the hotel to check in and spend the night in Cairo.
