A tourist center has developed around the Bedouin village of Assalah, located to the north of the city. This region offers budget-friendly lodging options, campsites, restaurants, and beachside dining experiences, primarily attracting young and independent travelers with limited financial resources.

Conversely, the more affluent area is situated to the south of the city, featuring luxury hotels, resort communities, and diving facilities that cater to a varied audience. Nonetheless, the main attraction for all visitors remains the sea and the coral reef, which is rich in colorful marine life, readily visible even during shallow dives close to the shore.

Dahab Sinai is divided into three main areas. The northern section features the estuaries, which include the Bedouin village of Asala. To the south of the estuary lies a more tourist-centric region, notable for its abundance of hotels. In the southwest, one can discover the city that encompasses the Laguna area, famous for its shallow surfing conditions. A significant number of visitors to Dahab are repeat travelers, enticed by the opportunities for diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea.

Dahab experiences a considerable influx of international tourists, celebrated for its outstanding surfing prospects. The steady winds create perfect conditions, enhanced by the calm waters of the Dahab Strait. Beyond the beach, the combination of robust winds and gentle waves provides exceptional surfing experiences. Introductory Open Water courses generally last three to four days, after which participants can join enjoyable dives to discover the best of Dahab. Numerous diving centers in the area offer daily trips to the SS Thistlegorm, one of the most famous shipwrecks in the world. This British cargo ship sank in 1941 during World War II after being hit by two German bombs while transporting allied supplies. Discovered by Jacques Cousteau in 1955, the SS Thistlegorm has become a key attraction for divers in the Red Sea, measuring over 400 feet (approximately 120 meters) in length. In addition to aquatic sports, Dahab provides a range of adventurous activities, such as rock climbing, camel rides, and the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Arabian horses. Visitors can also partake in mountain biking, jeep tours, quad biking, and excursions to Ras Abu Gallum.

The Abu Gallum Nature Reserve, located in South Sinai, Egypt, overlooks the Gulf of Aqaba along the route that connects Sharm El-Sheikh and Taba, specifically in the Wadi Al-Kasasa region. It was established as a protected area through Prime Minister Decision No. 1511 in 1992, with further modifications made by Resolution No. 33 in 1996. This reserve is celebrated as one of the top diving locations worldwide, particularly in the Kanoun area, which is famous for its outstanding diving experiences in Al-Asala. Approximately 75% of the local populace resides in three districts: Mubarak City, Zarnouk, and Al-Asala. The main road of the city starts at Al Fanar Street and leads to Aqaba Bay. A significant landmark in the vicinity is Jabal Musa, or Mount Sinai, which stands at 2,385 meters above sea level in the South Sinai Governorate. This mountain is named after the Prophet Musa, who, according to the beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, received the Ten Commandments from God at this location.
