Profitez d'un délicieux petit-déjeuner à l'hôtel, puis notre représentant vous retrouvera dans le hall de l'hôtel pour vous aider à organiser vos excursions d'une journée au Caire. L'excursion passionnante aux Pyramides de Gizeh sera la première étape de votre itinéraire. Ce sont quelques-unes des structures les plus anciennes et les plus emblématiques du monde. Elles ont été construites il y a environ 4 500 ans par les pharaons égyptiens comme tombes pour eux-mêmes et leurs familles. Vous verrez également le Sphinx, une créature mythique à tête d'homme et au corps de lion qui a gardé ces tombes royales pendant des siècles.

Après cette visite, dirigez-vous vers la nécropole de Saqqara où vous verrez d'autres pyramides datant de périodes ultérieures. Cette nécropole a été construite pour servir de lieu de sépulture aux nobles pendant la période de l'Ancien Empire (2686-2181 avant notre ère). Le site comprend des tombes creusées dans des falaises rocheuses ainsi que des tombes mastaba - des structures rectangulaires à toit plat et aux côtés inclinés qui ont été construites à cette époque.

Enfin, nous visiterons la ville de Memphis, la capitale de l'Égypte ancienne pendant la période du Nouvel Empire (1550-1069 avant J.C.). Vous aurez un aperçu de la vie dans l'Égypte ancienne en visitant divers sites tels que des temples, des palais et des cimetières.

This day-long excursion combines two of the most popular attractions in Cairo: the Egyptian Museum and Coptic Cairo. The tour begins with a visit to the massive Egyptian Museum, the largest in Africa, which houses more than 120,000 antiquities of Ancient Egypt. On your visit, you will see immense treasures that belong to five thousand years ago, including sculptures, mummies, and magnificent gold and silver objects.

Early on you will be driven to Coptic Cairo where there are many churches, monasteries, and other remnants of early Christianity in Egypt. You will see the Ben Ezra Synagogue and other historic sites including a visit to the Church of St. Sergius near the Citadel which houses a rare collection of Byzantine mosaics and icons.

Moving on you will visit Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, one of the last remaining markets from Cairo's medieval past. Here you can shop as much as you want or rest at a café as you watch people passing by while sipping tea and eating hummus.

After breakfast, we depart for Alexandria, the historic port city on the Mediterranean Sea and Egypt's second-largest city. The city was made famous by the legends of Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, and Mark Antony, who ruled over Egypt from this strategic site.

Look for the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Then continue to Cleopatra's Needle before visiting Pompey's Pillar and Fort Qaitbey.  Pass by Pompey’s Pillar, once a popular landmark for promenading noblemen and women under the reign of the Pharaohs. Admire some of Egypt’s most beautiful mosques at the Mosque of Ibn Tulun and Al-Hussein Mosque before stopping at Catacombs Sository to discover an ancient underground burial space.

On your way, your tour guide will tell you about the secrets of Alexander the Great in more detail and the story of his burial and his commandment to Ptolemy I to be buried there in Egypt.

The highlight of your day will be a visit to Taposiris Magna, an ancient ruin that reveals much about Alexandrian life in the time of Alexander the Great! After lunch at this site, join us for a city tour in Arabesque Square and visit El-Rashid Mosque which was built by Khedive Ismail.
