Itinerary
In the morning our entire team will be with you - driver, representative and guide - to visit the Giza Pyramids.. Giza is the third largest city in Egypt after Cairo and Alexandria. It is located on the west bank of the Nile river, some 20 km southwest of central Cairo.
It contains mainly the three pyramids built for the most famous kings of the 4th dynasty: Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, together with their subsidiary and satellite pyramids. It also comprises mastabas and tombs for relatives and high officials of the kings, as well as temples forming parts of the complex such as mortuary temples and valley temples.
We start by visiting the Pyramid of Khufu and getting to know it. Then we move to the Pyramid of Khafre. King Khafre is the owner of the second pyramid at Giza plateau. The simplicity of the chamber passage system may reflect the builder's experi ence of facing in building chambers high in the body of the pyramid.
According to some theories, the pyramid's base was supposed to be larger at first, but its design changed from a larger to a smaller pyramid foundation, which led to the inclusion of portcullis closure systems at the start of the lower and higher horizontal corridors. By the regional bus we go to the Sphinx. The name of the Sphinx in ancient Egyptian language is ssp anx (the living image) but the word "sphinx", which means "strangler" in Greek language, was given by the Greeks to a fabulous/imaginary creature which had the head of a woman, a body of lion and the wings of a bird

The first sixteen courses of the exterior were covered with granite. The upper portion was cased in the normal manner with Tura limestone.
It is said that, at the end of the Twelfth Century, al-Malek al-Aziz Othman ben Yusuf, son and heir of Saladin attempted to demolish the pyra-mids starting with Menkaure's pyramid. However, it appeared that it was found out that they are almost as expensive to destroy as to build.
