Alexandria was the capital of Egypt for almost 1,000 years. The first stop on your tour will be Pompey's Pillar, which is located within the ruined Serapeum of Alexandria. You'll then transfer to see the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an ancient catacomb that's comprised of three floors underground and decorated with a mixture of Pharaonic and Greco-Roman styles of art and architecture.
Next, you'll visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, which was built using the ruined stones of the ancient Lighthouse Pharos. On your way to a restaurant overlooking the sea, you'll pass by the modern Bibliotheca of Alexandria.
You'll enjoy a pleasant seafood lunch before taking the vehicle back to Cairo for an overnight stay. The Alexandria day trip will leave you with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the rich history and culture of Egypt.
