To kick off your day trip to the West Bank of Luxor, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast. Your first stop will be the iconic Valley of the Kings, situated on the West Bank of Luxor and known as the Necropolis of Thebes. This ancient burial ground is a must-see for visitors to Luxor, housing tombs carved into the Thebes Mountain. After exploring this unique temple, we'll continue our journey towards Edfu. Here, you'll visit the Temple of Horus, dedicated to the falcon-headed deity Horus. This well-preserved pharaonic temple offers a spectacular glimpse into ancient Egyptian architecture.
In the evening, we'll escort you to your hotel in Aswan for check-in, where you'll spend the night.
After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up to visit the Aswan High Dam, a monumental embankment dam constructed across the Nile River in Aswan, Egypt. Built in the 1960s, this dam replaced the earlier Aswan Low Dam, proving to be crucial for Egypt's irrigation, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation. Its construction became a top priority after the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, symbolizing a significant milestone in Egypt's industrialization efforts.
Following the dam visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before embarking on an air-conditioned van for an Abu Simbel day trip from Aswan. The temples at Abu Simbel are renowned for their remarkable architecture and represent the pinnacle of ancient Egyptian grandeur. Constructed to honor the gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and Ramesses II, these temples were relocated to higher ground by the Egyptian government and UNESCO to safeguard them from flooding.
