3 Days Cairo Alexandria Luxor Short Break Tour

Our 2nd day will start off with a trip to the city of Alexandria, after breakfast you will transfer to Alexandria, where you will have the chance to visit the famous Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, the catacombs are one of the most famous Christian sites in Egypt and date back to Roman times and contain more than 1,000 chambers with ornate facades carved into rock walls. You will also see some ancient Greek ruins on your way to your next stop, Fort Qaitbey, which was built by Saladin in 1168-1169 CE. Next up is Pompey's Pillar, which was built by Pharaoh Ptolemy II Philadelphus in 285 BCE and is considered one of the best-preserved examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. At the end you will visit Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral: This cathedral was built in 1881 and is one of only two churches that were built during that time period by Christians who lived under Ottoman rule. It contains many historic artifacts including an iconostasis made out of gold-plated wood with icons painted on it in bright colors.

Your day will be capped off with dinner at an authentic Egyptian restaurant before heading back to your hotel.

In the morning you will take your perfect breakfast, and we will fly to Luxor on our way to explore the East Bank of the Nile. The first stop is The largest temple in Egypt, Karnak temple is a complex of massive buildings dedicated to the gods Amon and Amun. It's also home to one of the most famous obelisks in the world, which you can see from the Temple of Luxor.

After that take your lunch, and we'll head over to Luxor temple. Like Karnak, this temple was dedicated to the god Amon Ra his name means "the hidden one". Walk through its hallways and courtyards to see some incredible carvings and sculptures—you'll also be able to see some of the ruins that are being excavated as part of a massive restoration effort.

Then you will transfer to Luxor International Airport to return your home.

The East Bank is where the town of Luxor is and it's where most people live and work. It's also where you can find the big Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. There are lots of hotels and restaurants there too. The West Bank is where the ancient Egyptians used to bury their dead.
