Luxor Day Tour from Soma Bay

Your day tour starts with a pickup from your hotel in Soma Bay, where you will be transferred to Luxor. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and start your Luxor East Bank tour, where you will see some of the most famous sites in Egypt.

The first stop is Karnak Temple, which is one of the largest ancient Egyptian temples ever built. It was constructed in about 1400 BC by Pharaoh Ramses II and consists of four main pylons (gateways) aligned along a central axis. The temple is dedicated to the god Amon-Re and consists of several colonnaded courtyards and halls.

Then you will visit the Temple of Luxor, which was built by Ramses II as part of his funerary complex on the west bank of Luxor. This temple is dedicated to Amon-Ra by king Amenhotep III, in Western Thebes. It is one of the largest temples in Egypt and a highlight for any visit to Luxor.

After that, you'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant near Luxor Temple. After lunch, you'll head over to begin your adventure on the Luxor west bank tour. You'll see the Valley of the Kings and Queens, where members of royalty were buried, as well as temples dedicated to ancient gods like Isis and Osiris.

You'll also stop by the Temple of Hatshepsut, one of only two female pharaohs ever recorded in Egyptian history (the other was Nefertiti). She ruled during the 18th dynasty around 1479 B.C., and her temple was built around 1375 B.C. The rest of the tour is at your leisure—you can spend it shopping or exploring more sites on your own before returning back to your hotel in Soma Bay later that evening.
